North Texas LGBTQ Chamber president serving on ACCE Board for a 2nd time

Tony Vedda, CCE, IOM, president of the North Texas LGBT Chamber of Commerce, was elected Tuesday afternoon, July 16, to serve on the board of directors for the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives, an Alexandria, Va.-based association of more than 9,000 professionals who work for and with more than 1,300 chambers of commerce.

Members of ACCE’s board of directors represent more than 50 organizations, including many of the world’s largest and most influential regional chambers of commerce.

Sheree Anne Kelly, ACCE president and CEO, said, “We are pleased to welcome Tony to the ACCE Board of Directors. His expertise and leadership will be invaluable as we continue to optimize our industry’s opportunities and leverage the ever-growing momentum for innovation, catalytic leadership and economic vitality within our communities.”

Vedda was recently recognized by the Texas Chamber of Commerce Executives for his 25 years of service to the chamber industry. He is a graduate of the U.S. Chamber’s Institute for Organization Management (IOM). And is the only LGBTQ chamber leader to receive the certified chamber executive (CCE) designation from the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives. It is a title held by less than 4 percent of active chamber leaders in the nation.

Vedda holds a certificate in Diversity and Inclusion from Cornell University. He is a founding member of the Texas LGBTQ Chambers of Commerce, a statewide advocacy coalition, and currently serves on the Texas Chamber of Commerce Executives board of directors.
Vedda is also chair of the ACCE’s Certified Chamber Executive Commission.

The mission of ACCE, established in 1914, is to support and develop chamber professionals to lead businesses and their communities. ACCE identifies and analyzes trends affecting communities, shares best practices and develops benchmarking studies, in addition to providing other tools to help chamber leaders manage and improve operations at their organization and achieve the highest impact in their communities.

The combined membership of ACCE chambers is close to one million businesses.

The North Texas LGBT Chamber of Commerce is the largest LGBT business organization in Texas, with a membership of more than 400 business entities and community organizations located throughout the North Texas region. The chamber works to achieve equality through business.

Chamber programs are designed to promote policies and practices that value a diverse and inclusive business community, workforce, and supply chain. Since launching in 2005, the chamber has been the only North Texas organization to be positioned at the crossroads of business and equality.
