Second Baptist Church in San Antonio has backed off its proposal to change the name of Gay Boulevard to Second Baptist Way, the Web site QSanAntonio reports:
Church officials said the change had nothing to do with sexual preference. However, a news story by KENS-TV quoted a neighborhood resident as saying, “First of all, Gay Street, that’s not a proper name because I’m anti-gay.”
Well, at least in San Antonio they tell it like it is, which is more than you can say for the anti-Cesar Chavez Boulevard folks in Dallas. They may be bigots, but at least they’re honest!
