Jonathan Russell Gunter has been sentenced to 30 years in prison after being found guilty earlier today in a Dallas County court of first degree aggravated robbery in connection with a brutal assault on Jimmy Lee Dean last July on an Oak Lawn street.
Dallas Voice News Editor John Wright, who attended the trial this week, said the sentence was less than the 40 years the prosecution had asked for, but more than the 5-to-10-year sentence requested by Gunter’s attorney.
