1-TDORTransgender Day of Remembrance is an annual day, held on Nov. 20, to remember those killed and discriminated against for their gender identity and expression.

Dallas’ event will have a keynote speech by trans activist Allyson Robinson on Sunday. Events are planned throughout next week in all parts of Texas, but the local memorials will be particularly hard on the LGBT community in light of Denton trans woman Artegus Konyale Madden, who was murdered in September. Police are still looking for her killer.

And in the 2012 death of  Janette Tovar, whose boyfriend was arrested for her death, prosecutors are still searching for witnesses before his January trial.
