CoH plans Ash Wednesday services
The Rev. Jo Hudson, senior pastor of the Cathedral of Hope, will preach on the topic "Out of the Ashes" at the church’s traditional Ash Wednesday observance on Feb. 17 at 7:15 p.m. The church’s music ministry will lead the observance as the Sanctuary Choir and Orchestra, the contemporary ensemble Voices of Hope, and the Cathedral Ringers handbell choir each will be featured.

As is customary, the service will culminate with the imposition of ashes.
In addition, the church’s Congregación Latina will offer a midday service in English at 12:15 p.m. Led by Pastor Asistente the Rev. Alejandro de la Torre, the half-hour service will feature the Congregación Latina Choir and the imposition of ashes.

Both services are free and open to all. The Cathedral of Hope is located at 5910 Cedar Springs Road.

Meeting set on immigration reform
The Human Rights Campaign and LULAC 4871-The Dallas Rainbow Council will sponsor a community meeting on Comprehensive Immigration Reform and how it affects the LGBT community on Thursday, Feb. 18, at 6:30 p.m., at the Dallas Resource Center, Blue and Yellow Room, located at 2701 Reagan St. in Dallas.

Keynote speaker will be state Rep. Rafael Anchia, a son of immigrants, who has been an advocate for the LGBT community as well as immigrants in the U.S.

Also speaking will be community members whose lives are on hold because of the current immigration system, from a bi-national couple to an LGBT teen, and who are waiting for new laws that will help more than 12 million immigrants find a pathway to citizenship.

Tarrant AOC holding open house
Tarrant County AIDS Outreach Center, which merged with Tarrant County AIDS Interfaith Network last Sept. 1 and at the same time relocated its office to a larger facility, will hold an open house at the new location on Friday, Feb. 26, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., with ribbon cutting ceremony at 5:30 p.m.

The office is located on 400 North Beach Street, Fort Worth, Texas between I-30 and the 121 Freeway.  Light refreshments will be served and the public is invited.
