After 17 years at Legacy Counseling Center, Teresa Loeber announced her retirement. Her no-nonsense, direct approach has worked to heal so many people living with HIV/AIDS, Legacy Executive Director Melissa Grove said.
Loeber joined Legacy after the closing of Oak Lawn Community Services in 1999 and has served as counselor and the coordinator of the Substance Abuse Intensive Outpatient Program, specializing in addictions and HIV illness. She has worked with adolescents, adults and various populations including service with the reservations of the Native American populations, HIV/AIDS as well as the LGBT communities for their substance and drug abuse outreach and treatment needs.
“It is with deep sadness  that I announce that Teresa Loeber, LCDC, has decided to retire from Legacy Counseling Center after 17 years of dedicated service as our Substance Abuse Lead Therapist due to health reasons,” Clinic Director Bob Roton said. “Teresa has been instrumental in growing the successful substance abuse programs here at Legacy and she will be missed. Thank you Teresa. We appreciate your dedication and support over the past 17 years and wish you the very best.”
