The Brick-Joe’s hosted a Night of Stars benefiting LifeWalk’s Team Metro of the Greg Dollenger Memorial AIDS Fund (GDMAF). With an all-star cast of the Miss Gay Texas State Pageant system that featured Jujubee, second season finalist from RuPaul’s Drag Race, the event raised more than $6,000 with $1,100 coming directly from the performers’ tips.
In addition to the featured performances of Linze Serell, Sabel Alexander, Sienna Silver and Jujubee, there was a silent auction and the ever popular “Boots to Balls” raffle that included items such as a VIP wine tasting by Premier Wines of Plano, items from World Market and Central Market, as well as original artwork to name a few.
Sponsors of the event included The Brick-Joe’s, The Warwick Hotel, and LifeWalk. The money raised will go to support Team Metro’s goal is of raising $9,000 for the 23rd annual LifeWalk 2013 at Lee Park on Oct 6
Since 1996 GDMAF, an entirely volunteer-based organization, has assisted more than 1,500 clients and disbursed more than $300,000. Its mission is to enhance the lives of persons with HIV/AIDS in the North Texas area by providing financial assistance for critical needs when resources from local organizations have been exhausted.
