Tensions ran high during a Stonewall Democrats of Dallas meeting Tuesday night, as a standing-room-only crowd gathered to hammer out the group’s slate of endorsed candidates for the May 29 primary.
More than 100 Stonewallers crowded into the back room at Ojeda’s Restaurant on Maple Avenue, where the group’s general membership voted to endorse four candidates who weren’t recommended by a committee that met last weekend.
The general membership voted to endorse John Wiley Price for Dallas County Commissioners Court District 3, Eric Johnson for Texas House District 100, Sean Hubbard for U.S. Senate and Dominique Collins for Criminal District Court No. 4.
The general membership also ratified the remainder of the endorsement committee’s recommended slate, which can be found here.
For a full story on the Stonewall endorsements, see Friday’s Dallas Voice.
Wow, did they endorse John W Price because the alternative was the unholy demon child of Sarah Palin and Rick Perry?
How dare them endorse Price? WTF Has he done? Nothing, have theses people watched the news how his a crook and then bullying people and the citzens of the county? I for one will not vote for that phony and It’s a shame and a disgrace. They are a disgrace to the community and not once have I seen them endorse the Dallas ISD candidate, I guess Gay people don’t give a shit about DISD school and they want the school to fail just like the North Dallas People who what to rule the city. I think I’m going to vote for Micah Phillips, we need to get rid of the fake politicians running this crap.

We endorsed Commissioner Price because he votes for our issues on the court.
Non-discrimination in county employment
Gender Inclusive added
A very long history of standing up for HIV/AIDS treatment, medication and services (He was the first in Dallas County)
He stands up for discrimination of our community. He continually appoints me as the Election Judge at Revershon Rec Center on Maple. He supports my appointment as an early voting judge (The First openly TS Early Voting Judge in the State). He has always been there for HIV/AIDS treatment and services. He has supported fair treatment of all inmates at the county jail. He has been instramental in helping redraw county commissioner court lines to make what we should be able to make a new BLUE district! This list goes on and on and on….
As the former precinct chair of the old 3200 (SW of Cedar Springs; encompassing most of the entertainment district and much of Turtle Creek) his office as always moved quickly on county issues I have brought up.
A couple of years ago I came upon one of my sisters crying, she had just come from adult probation. Her sentence included she wear an ankle monitor, no big deal. It was a supervisor at adult probation that verbally accosted her, “She wasn’t a cis-female therefore she was not to return to have it removed in fem attire. Threatened to be locked up even then.
I was aghast, contacted Commissioner Price and his office acted promptly and swiftly, not only was she allowed to return at end of her sentence in her true self attire, she got an apology.
Commissioner Price has the ENTIRE communities back
So PreppyStudent if you don’t mind explain to me why? of what I have listed does not count as having done anything for our community.
Pamela Curry
Ya, he only using people so he can be in court. I live in his district and after he became a fake person, I lost my repect to him. Why in the hell does he fire Bruce Sherbet? What has he done? Nothing, he only wants his thugs to run this county and yet he was never a bad guy and he was doing this job. Next, JWP fires Lisa Chambers and yet she hasn’t done anything and yet he tried to get another crazy person to run our security? You tell me what theses two people have done wrong in the county? What has he done for the rest of the folks who lives in his district? Nothing? They are only kiss-assing Price and yet people have started to stand-up and say enough is enough. This is whats wrong with the Gay Community in Dallas, they can’t get there act together just like the Republican Party.
Pamela- Read the blogs, watch the news and you’ll see why people are fed up, you and the Stonewalls are just drinking the Kool-Aid.
John Wiley Price – you have got to be kidding me!! Stonewall Democrats get no support from this liberal democrat.
Stonewall Democrats have lost ALL credibility. And Mr. Fitzimmons, I just can’t vote for you anymore.
I’m sorry, but just because I’m gay doesn’t mean I ONLY have to vote on one issue. Stonewall has long lost what it once was. It’s too bad.
