Although the contestants were few, the competition was fierce. Up for grabs was $1,500 in cash and prizes, including travel to and lodging at the national competition.

At the end of the night, Christian Steele emerged from the Mr. Gay LoneStar 2013 pageant as the winner. The pageant, held at the Round-Up Saloon and Dance Hall on Wednesday night, included two other competitors and was set to the theme of “All the King’s Men.”

In addition to winning the competition, Steele claimed two category awards. The first was Interview with a perfect score, and the second was Club Wear with a score just two points shy of perfect.

First runner-up was Cielo Whitney who, during the talent portion of the competition, re-enacted the “Men on Football” comedy sketch from the hit 90s television show In Living Color. Whitney also won two category awards: Best Talent and Most Handsome. Second runner-up was awarded to Malik Revlon Iman. Iman also won Mr. Congeniality.

Special guests included: Loretta Armani, Miss Gay Lonestar USofA; Edna Jean Robinson, Miss Gay Lonestar USofA Classic; Dorae Saunders, Miss Gay USofA At Large; Ramaya Lord, Miss Gay Lonestar USofA Newcomer; Sassy O’Hara, Miss Gay Lonestar USofA 2012; and Lady PT, Miss Gay Lonestar USofA Classic 2012. Also in attendance were Tyriech O’Hara Munroe, Mr. Gay Lonestar Emeritus; as well as Rasean Montrese, Mr. Gay USofA 2012.

In an unexpected move, the pageant promoter announced that all three competitors will be allowed to advance to the Mr. Gay USofA national pageant held Oct. 16-18 at The Saint in San Antonio.

Established in 2008 and affiliated with USofA Pageants, Mr. Gay USofA has over 30 local, state and regional contests in which men from all over the country compete. Mr. Gay USofA offers integrity, excellence, competition and recognition for the male leads in the entertainment community.
