Doug Savant turns 48 on Thursday. The actor was most recently seen as Tom Scavo on Desperate Housewives which finished its run this year. He gained attention though as Matt Fielding on Melrose Place in the mid-90s. His character was noted as one of the first out characters on network television, but a planned onscreen kiss never made it past censors.
