The Star-Telegram of Fort Worth is in the midst of a series called “Living with HIV,” which focuses on the impact of the disease in the African-American community. The timing of this series is excellent, as it coincides with the announcement that the U.S. government has underestimated the number of new HIV infections each year by about 40 percent since the late 1990s.
