Be sure to mark you calendars for this one!
Soulforce’s Equality Ride, the gay-rights bus tour that’s notorious for stirring up trouble at faith-based colleges, will visit not one, not two, but three schools in North Texas this fall.
According to a press release from Soulforce, the 15 stops on the 2008 Equality Ride in October and November will include Dallas Baptist University on Oct. 24, Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth on Oct. 27 and Southwestern Assemblies of God University in Waxahachie on Oct. 29.
This year’s 17 riders will attempt to bring a message of LGBT inclusion and safety to the schools, according to Soulforce. The Equality Ride tries to work in collaboration with the schools’ administrations, contacting them in advance and inviting them to work together on programming.
However, what frequently happens is that Equality Riders get arrested for trespassing and the like when they try to go onto the campuses to deliver their messages. The photo above is from the Equality Ride’s visit to Baylor University in Waco last year.
