halloween3Police estimated 18,000 celebrated Halloween on Cedar Springs Road on Saturday night.
Heavy rains earlier in the day is the major reason for the smaller than usual crowd. Party goers have a second chance to celebrate Halloween since Oct. 31 falls this coming Saturday. Most bars are having a second Halloween celebration on that day. Rain is predicted next week as well.
There was one arrest for public intoxication on Oct. 24.
“Poor guy was passed out drunk in a portapotty,” said Jeremy Liebbe, who headed security on Cedar Springs Road for the street party. “We didn’t have much else we could do with him.”
Look for pictures from the street party on Monday.
