Among the organizations receiving funds are area AIDS organizations — Resource Center, AIDS Arms, AIDS Services Dallas, Abounding Prosperity, Legacy Counseling Center, AIDS Walk South Dallas and AIDS Outreach Center.
Other LGBT organizations receiving funds are Trans Pride Initiative, North Texas Pride Foundation and Lambda Legal.
Receiving funds for the first time is Ed-U-Care, which works with professional and personal care givers who work with the LGBT elders in long-term care facilities. Ed-U-Care is actively participating with the newly created Coalition for Aging LGBT.
In addition, a variety of arts organizations including the Turtle Creek Chorale, animal rescues including Ranch Hand Rescue and Oak Lawn Library Friends are among the agencies slated to raise funds in the community.
