Why all the protection? Is it the Texas Taliban again?
There were more deputies than media and more media than protesters.
To be honest, I think they were more worried about anti-gay protesters than anything. It was overkill, but who could blame them? If the gays and right-wingers showed up, and someone got hurt, law enforcement would be blamed for failing to keep people safe. Let’s face it, those Tea Party folks are pretty scary. I think law enforcement all over the country is on heightened alert for domestic terrorism.
