The victim reportedly had sought a protective order against the suspect prior to the murder, but the order was denied because they weren’t married or in a relationship. As it turns out, they actually were in a relationship, according to the suspect’s attorneys. An attorney for the victim’s family is denying the relationship, and authorities say they have no evidence to confirm it.
