ROCCA ON A ROLL
Mo Rocca’s droll humor has made him a favorite of comedy fans from Comedy Central to NPR. Rocca brings his offbeat humor to a fundraiser for Jewish Family Services. We asked him a few questions before his appearance:
Dallas Voice: You are or were on Comedy Central’s "The Daily Show" with Frank DeCaro, "Wait Wait Don’t Tell" me on NPR with Paula Poundstone, "Ugly Betty" with, well, the cast of "Ugly Betty" and even appeared in the movie version of "Bewitched." Do you do anything that isn’t super gay? Rocca: The balance beam. It takes a real man to stick a landing.
DV: Frank DeCaro vs. Paula Poundstone in a one-armed knife fight: Who wins? Rocca: Frank has the killer accessory: a two-foot long scimitar.
DV: What do you see as the future of same-sex marriage in this country? Rocca: "Please join us as we exchange vows at the Holiday Inn in Dubuque."

NEW DANCE TROUPE HOLDS GALA
North Texas’ ballet scene has been under financial stress lately, but that didn’t stop Wil McKnight, the gay artistic director of the Texas Dance Theatre, from launching a new troupe in these challenging economic times.
Although McKnight refers to the TDT as a ballet company, he also promises contemporary choreography and world premieres.
The TDT kicks off with a gala performance in Fort Worth on Friday with a program set to music by Yo-Yo Ma and Vivaldi, among others. The event will also entail a post-performance party where you can meet the troupe, including gay 20-year-old dancer Eric Vaughn, pictured.
