Clerk, police uncertain if man had pistol in pocket
A man who claimed to have a gun on him robbed $90 from Condom Sense on Cedar Springs Road on Jan. 4., apparently catching the store clerk unprepared.
The clerk told police officers the man, whom he described as a white male about 25 to 30 years old, entered the store and said, “I have a gun. Give me all of your money now.”
The robber fled on foot south toward Oak Lawn Avenue after the clerk handed over the money.
Nothing else was taken, and the clerk was not injured.
The robber never revealed the gun, but the clerk apparently didn’t want to question whether there was indeed a pistol in his pocket.
