Well, they didn’t win. The couple had hopes of winning the $100,000 Ultimate Wedding Contest.
Gregory and Jonathan represented the gay contingent big time but finished just a few votes behind the winning couple.
Not too shabby.
Gregory posted the following note on C&B’s Facebook this morning:
Thank you so much for awarding us as your second place couple in the Ultimate Wedding Contest! It has been an amazing experience, and thank you Crate and Barrel for being so supportive of the LGBTQ Community. The link below is to the first slide show we made for the contest! Thank you again!
The couple didn’t walk away empty-handed, though. They won a $7,500 gift card to the store, which probably makes them the envy of all their friends.
UPDATE: OK, maybe I missed something here. Throughout the contest, one couple was leading with over 21,000 votes. Naturally, they seemed to be the winner, thus I wrote “Gregory and Jonathan…finished just a few votes behind the winning couple.”
At closer look, it appears Crate & Barrel awarded the $100,000 to a couple who received just over a thousand votes and awarded the top vote getters a $500 gift card. They only won the “most votes” award.
Um, ouch?
