Beau Heyen sends word that in the “likely event of bad weather,” tonight’s Breaking the Silence event will move inside to SMU’s Huges-Trigg Student Center Varsity Room. The Student Center is at 3140 Dyer St., and the Varsity Room is downstairs. In the unlikely event of good weather, the event will be in the Doak Walker Plaza, outside the northeast corner of Gerald J. Ford Stadium. Breaking the Silence will be from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
The Victory Fund has learned that President Obama is going to name an out lesbian, Mercedes Marquez, as Assistant Secretary of Housing and Urban Development. This will be the 31st gay or lesbian person that President Obama has appointed to a senior administration position.!!
