Why is Transgender Day of Remembrance important to our community?

Beck Saunders – "I have some friends who are transgender, so anything that brings more attention to it is good. It’s not talked about much in the gay and lesbian community."

Mavis May – "If it makes people feel better, a vigil is an important thing to do."

John Grissom – "It educates us and makes us aware of people’s thoughts and feelings and concerns."

Brad Murdock – "It breaks down stereotypes people have of transgenders."

Michelle Brummond – "It gives you a better awareness of the diversity of people."
