The 19th annual Dallas Video Festival has something for everyone. The following are gay-interest programs will be screened at Dallas Theater Center’s Kalita Humphreys Theater, 3636 Turtle Creek Blvd.

Mouse Heaven. A short-film satire about Mickey Mouse through ironic sound and image juxtapositions. By homoerotic filmmaker Kenneth Anger.

Every Wandering Cloud. Inspired by Oscar Wilde’s “Ballad of Reading Gaol” with animation from Muybridge’s “Human and Animal Location,” this experimental work juxtaposes the themes of imprisonment and freedom. By gay filmmaker Tom Kalin (“Swoon,” “I Shot Andy Warhol,” “Office Killer”).

Room. Haunted by psychic visions of a cavernous whitewashed room, an overworked Texan woman abandons her work, friends and family in this horror film. Finding herself in the dark underbelly of Manhattan, she realizes she must find this room to restore her sanity. By gay filmmaker Kyle Henry.
Nominated for two 2006 Independent Spirit Awards.

Cold Hearts. Experimental shorts set to the musical talents of Mum and Sigur Ros, which features gay frontman “Jonsi” Birgisson, pictured. This video collaboration features some of Iceland’s best filmmakers and musicians. One video is a coming out story about teenaged gay soccer players.
