Pale Waves releases “Perfume”and announces new album

Buzzy UK darlings Pale Waves have released its new single and video “Perfume” alongside the announcement of its upcoming fourth studio album Smitten, out September 20. The single gives 1980s sapphic vibes in both its sound and visuals. The song was release last Wednesday.

“’Perfume’ is the perfect introduction into the new world we’ve created,” lead singer Heather Baron-Gracie said in the announcement. “It’s queer, feminine and romantic and it encapsulates the essence of Smitten.”

In the new album, Smitten sees Baron-Gracie reflecting upon her roots and was written between the US and UK over a two-year period.

“I found myself writing about not just a certain time period, but my whole life, from years ago,” she added. “When I fall in love, I fall deep, and it’s interesting to me that you can feel so fascinated and smitten with someone and then they can become a total stranger. So, I feel like Smitten really summarized perfectly what I felt for others at a certain point.”

Pale Waves is currently touring North America as official support for PVRIS and will appear in Dallas on July 7 at House of Blues’ Cambridge Room.

GRAMMY-nominated bi artist and Dallas native Tayla Parx unveils her third album

Crafted over two years, Many Moons, Many Suns captures the emotional whirlwind of Tayla Parx’s celestial journey of self-discovery. It’s also her third album. The 13-track record also features her previously released summer anthem “Era” (feat. Tkay Maidza). Teen Vogue admired the song as “an instant earworm perfect for warmer weather” while Billboard praised, “Parx touts her personal achievements and declares that the time for her raucous comeback into the cultural spotlight has arrived — and we couldn’t be happier to see it.”

Also, she originally hails from Dallas which is a big deal for us hence her photo above. The album is out now.

Many Moons, Many Suns captures the essence of my last two years—a period marked by an unnoticed depression, hidden beneath moments so vibrant they masked my internal struggles,” Parx said in the album’s announcement. “Despite always wearing a smile, I’ve learned that it can manifest in way more ways than a tear. This album was born from the challenges of an unexpected breakup while deeper exploration into self-love and companionship. It reflects my curiosities and the ways they lead me to redefine intimacy and connection. This album is a chapter in my story, narrated through the cycles of many moons and many suns.”

Parx is expected to release a tour announcement soon.
