So not the news we want to hear as we head into the weekend. But forewarned is forearmed, as they say. So pay attention, and if you are headed to The Strip this weekend, keep your eyes open and be safe.
Dallas Police just posted this Community Awareness Bulletin on their blog:

“On March 8, 2018, at approximately 1:30 a.m., the victim and his friend were walking back to their vehicle after leaving a bar in the 3900 block of Cedar Springs. The victim stated that a black male suspect approached him, pointed a weapon and demanded his property. The suspect then pointed the weapon at the ground and fired once. A struggle between the victim and suspect ensued in between vehicles. The victim’s friend began to help him, which caused the suspect to flee the location. The victim was grazed by the gunshot fragment but did not need medical attention.

The same suspect is believed to have attempted a similar offense approximately thirty minutes earlier in the 4200 block of Maple Ave.

“The Dallas Police Department’s Robbery Unit is conducting the follow-up investigation. The Dallas Police Department asks that all citizens remain vigilant of their surroundings.

“If anyone has any information about this offense or any similar offenses, please contact Detective Richeson of the Criminal Investigations Division at 214-671-3584.”
