Screen shot 2016-01-21 at 11.31.02 AMDallas police are asking the public for help in identifying two men who tried to rob the ATM at Brazos Bank, 1625 N. Stemmons, about 5 o’clock Wednesday morning, Jan. 20.
The bank is located just south of Oak Lawn Avenue in the Design District.
Police said the two men, both wearing masks and gloves, started out using a concrete saw to try break into the machine. After several long minutes using several different tools, though, they fled the location without having gotten any money from the machine.
They did, however, cause about $80,000 worth of damage to the ATM.
The men were driving blue, 2000-2006 GMC ¾-ton pickup truck with clearance lights mounted on the cab. Police have video footage from several cameras in the area, including one at the ATM itself, that shows the attempted robbery. The camera at the ATM captured a clear view of one suspect’s eyes and nose and his mustache — his mouth and chin were covered by a scarf — before he finally smashes the camera with a sledge hammer.
