Oral arguments in the Louisiana case began at 9 a.m.
That case was the first since the Supreme Court struck parts of the Defense of Marriage Act as unconstitutional that a federal judge ruled that a state had a right to discriminate against same-sex couples.
The Mississippi case, which struck down the state’s right to discriminate, will be heard at 10 a.m.
