Meet Nutmeg, a 5-year-old pup with a hound heritage who’s ready to spice up your life. She weighs 57 pounds and has a gentle and affectionate personality, a beautiful brown-marbled short coat and floppy ears. Nutmeg is great with other dogs and kids under 12. She is currently undergoing heartworm treatment, and she needs a calm, cozy environment as a foster-to-adopt companion. She’s perfect for someone who enjoys a low-key lifestyle, complete with leash walks and plenty of snuggle time. Fostering Nutmeg will be free, as the SPCA of Texas will provide all food, bowls, bed, medication, toys and treats for Nutmeg at no charge.

Like all pets from the SPCA of Texas, Nutmeg has been spayed and microchipped and is up to date on all her necessary vaccinations. She is housed at the Russell E. Dealey Animal Rescue Center, so you’ll need an appointment to meet her. To do that, find her profile at SPCA.org/Dogs and click on the make an appointment button. Animals are available for adoption at both the SPCA Dallas Animal Care Center, 2400 Lone Star Drive, and the Ellis County Animal Care Center, 2570 FM Road 878 in Waxahachie. Through the end of October, all pet adoptions at the SPCA of Texas are “Name your Adoption Cost!”
