Kenzie is a beautiful, 6-year-old American red heeler mix with a quiet, steady presence and a heart that feels bigger than her 43-pound frame. She’s the kind of girl who doesn’t need to be the loudest in the room to shine but will instead sit close by, offering constant and true companionship. Kenzie needs a foster or foster-to-adopt family while she undergoes treatment for heartworms and waits to be spayed. Fostering a pet with the SPCA of Texas is free — all food, medications, leash, bowls, bed, etc. are provided at no charge. And, as a Senior Sweetheart — a pet age six or older — her adoption will be free when the time comes.
Sweet Kenzie’s next chapter needs to be calm and cozy; what she needs most isn’t adventure. It’s you. Her new family will bring her back periodically for vet visits but in return will get the chance to be the safe place Kenzie’s heart has been searching for. Kenzie is microchipped and up to date on vaccines. Come meet her at the Dallas Animal Care Center, 2400 Lone Star Drive, open every day from noon-6 p.m. Kenzie is microchipped and up to date on vaccines.
