Robert Jeffress

The Rev. Robert Jeffress of First Baptist Church in Dallas said Donald Trump’s personal life is “totally irrelevant” and that evangelicals support him for his policies.
When President Bill Clinton had sex with an intern in his office, Jeffress didn’t think Clinton’s personal life was irrelevant.
Newsweek reported Jeffress appeared on Fox News and said, “Evangelicals still believe in the commandment: Thou shalt not have sex with a porn star. However, whether this president violated that commandment or not is totally irrelevant to our support of him.”
And just how can evangelicals overlook Trump’s affair with a porn star? Because evangelicals understand forgiveness, Jeffress explained. And he did it with a straight face.
So let me see if I understand how this works.
Trump has sex with a porn star? Forgive.
Obama was black? Don’t forgive.
Paying bribes to keep the porn star quiet? Well, that was the attorney who paid her out of his own pocket, because that’s what attorneys do. They take $130,000 out of their own pockets to cover up for their clients.
Hillary Clinton? Benghazi.
