With about half of precincts reporting, Annise Parker leads Gene Locke in the Houston mayoral runoff by 52 percent to 48 percent. About 5,000 votes separate the two candidates with about 120,000 votes counted. Despite Parker’s lead, the race is still too close to call.
This is a nail-biter. Way too close to call. At HuffPo where masses are commenting as the results come in, a reader is cautiously optimistic, pointing out that Question 1 in Maine did not flip for Yes until more than 50% of precincts had reported. Too late for caution in this run-off IMO, the votes are done — I’m optimistic that the results will continue to tilt toward Annise. Go Annise!
