Britt said Denton’s only gay bar, which burned down in March 2007, reopened last week at a new location a block away. After a special event for about 30 friends and volunteers who assisted with the renovations on Thursday, Oct. 23, Sanders illuminated the open sign on Friday, Oct. 24, and drew more than 200 customers, Britt said. "It was so packed at one point we almost didn’t have enough glasses to serve everyone," he said. "I knew we’d have a lot of people, but I didn’t think we’d have that many without advertising anything." Britt said the bar will be open from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. Monday and Tuesday, and from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m. Wednesday to Sunday. For more information, call 940-566-9910.
