The Occupy Wall Street protest has inspired the planning of similar demonstrations around the country on Thursday, Oct. 6. The local events are listed on a website called Occupy Together. According to the site, Occupy events are planned in four Texas cities — Austin, Dallas, Houston and San Antonio. There’s also a Facebook page for the Occupy Dallas event, which will be outside the Federal Reserve Bank at 2200 N. Pearl St.
So, how many of you gays are in?
The movement is gaining momentum after a week and a half and Occupy movements are popping up all over the country! Stand up together and use your voice to give to those without. Tax the rich and feed the poor- you are the 99%! See my Occupy Wall Street painting and Anonymous homage on my artist’s blog at https://dregstudiosart.blogspot.com/2011/09/occupywallstreet.html where you can also see videos of the protests and police brutality as well as get other sources for coverage of the movement.
As LGBT Americans we know all to well the sting of inequality. We must stand up against injustice– weather it be social or economic. I will be there– and if you believe in dignity, justice and equality for all people- YOU should be too.
The occupy the FED protests have nothing to do with the occupy wall street.
The occupy wall street communists are run by the globalists, Soros, Michael Moore, and other ilk of that nature. The occupy the fed is about FREEDOM, LESS TAXES, RESTORING THE CONSTITUTION, A TRUE FREE MARKET, AND A FREE REPUBLIC.
Wow need to go to NY and not waste time with ignorant people. Our system is broken. Your republicans or tea party people are working for same people the left is and isn’t for us. They are working for corporations and are just puppets for the fasade of freedom so how dare u say standing up here has nothing to do with occypy wall st. Ignorance will be the end of us. Some people need to learn how awesome occupy wall st is and not make assumptions. Globalist and NWO is what they are against. So sick of this ignorance. Hope I see you there:) May be cute but don’t think I wont squash an army of ignorant
We really don’t have a problem with Communists in this country. We do, however, have a problem with Fascists like the Koch brothers and Rupert Murdock manipulating the government to do their bidding with their campaign contributions and lobbying.
I will be there!
I hear you. keep me informed.
The time is now. We can no longer stand by and watch our government and banking system be ran by the few instead of the majority. We the citizens of this country need to get off our butts and stand for something.
I will see you in Dallas.
Sorry for the late post, i work on a night shift. The latest updates on this movement have lended a hint of credability to the movement as a whole. Feeling is simple, people have gathered and are voicing concerns we all have. While it affrcts us all in different ways, what can one person do to affect a change. Nothing radical, but concerns we all struggle with, we all need a direction for a moderate shift, a paradigm of thought perhaps, but something that is no longer a pause of what is and what should be. Consider the current climate, and perhaps were not all from the same thing, one voice of reason that resonates. What can you and i do, sit back and watch? Strife for some, empathy, or change. Its a voice we have all felt. Currently i wonder what we can do, after 911 we made a loud statement with the red, white, and blue show. Now we can and should help to do more. Any thoughts would be welcome. Perhaps a wake up call to us all, not to point fingers, not a blame game, but what we need to do together. Any ideas welcome.
