Alan Gorman, 61, died January 15 while recovering from surgery.
He was born in Saint Petersberg, Fla., but was a longtime resident of Dallas. At the time of his death, he was living in Shreveport, La.
He was an optometrist who graduated from the Southern College of Optometry. He was one of the founders of Congregation Beth El Binah.
Alan is survived by a brother, his partner, Johnny, and his former partner, Mark Manning.
