Hector Alberto Casares, 37, passed away Aug. 27 in Dallas.
He received a B.A. in Business Administration from UT Brownsville in 2009. For the last three years, he worked for AT&T in Dallas.
Hector enjoyed the outdoors — as long as it wasn’t too hot — and he enjoyed hanging out by the pool most of all. He was always there for his friends and would help them out when they needed him. He loved to joke around, but the one thing he didn’t allow was someone touching his hair.
Hector also loved sitting in the parlor bar at The Round-Up and listening to Latino music on the jukebox, ignoring the stares from those who came in to listen to country-western.
A funeral was held Aug. 31 in Brownsville. A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m., Friday, Sept. 16, at Cathedral of Hope, 5910 Cedar Springs Road.
