Station is ‘high revenue earning,’ spokesman says

Despite rumors earlier this year that the Oak Lawn branch of the U.S. Post Office had been slated to close, a spokesman with the USPS media office in Dallas said this week that branch will remain open.
"The Oak Lawn office is a high-revenue earning facility in an excellent location accessible to customers who need our services. Therefore, it would not make economic sense to close this facility," saidUSPS spokesman Stephen A. Seewoester.
Seewoester also said no other stations "in the vicinity" are being "considered for closure at this time."
The Oak Lawn branch of the post office first opened in 1982, and the building was remodeled 17 years later in 1999.
Seewoester said the office sees about 13,000 transactions a month.

I am thrilled that the Oak Lawn Post Office will not close. The branch is so convenient for so many people and the staff is excellent!
I am glad to hear about this. I emailed them and told them how essential this post office is to this area, so not sure if my comment helped, but guess it did not hurt either.
