New tactic from the right wing
Iowa’s right wing is pushing for a vote on same-sex marriage. They’re using a new tactic.
In their decision, the Iowa Supreme Court cited state laws such as the anti-bullying law that includes protections for LGBT students.
So two Republicans in the Iowa House, Jason Schultz and Matt Windschitl, now want to remove protection for LGBT students to pave the way for an anti-same-sex marriage vote. They have filed the Exclude Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender (LGBT) Students from Safe Schools Law.
Opponents of equality are showing just how desperate they have become. If other tactics don’t work, file a law that tells bullies to beat up LGBT kids. Simply, incite violence to get their way.
Wow, I’m shocked that the titling of the law is so straight forward. Normally they try and name it something innocous and innocent like the “We Love Cookies Act” or “Grandmas are Awesome Law”.
That’s why I called it a new tactic. Nothing else has worked, so they’re being brutally honest. We hate you and we’re telling you we hate you. Maybe they could propose to bring the Uganda genocide law to Iowa. Happily, I don’t think the Republican pro-bullying law will even make it to the Democratic-run committees.
Let these bullies know how you feel. Their addresses are:

Jason Schultz

Ha! You obviously don’t know the Democratic party very well.
Comment well taken. However, this Iowa beat-the-crap-out-of-the-gays bill is sponsored by two of the most extreme right-wing Republicans the Iowa House has to offer.
Actually I am extremely grateful to them. The more they blatantly push stuff like this, specifically aimed at the LGBT community, they create an ever increasing amount of data and evidence that we are a suspect class and deserving of legal protections.
Hopefully they go full tilt and try to pass it in every state.
The harder they push, the more they heap on us….
the quicker we win.
Thanks Matt! Your our new bestest buddy and you’re probably too stupid to even realize it!
Loser.
Matt isn’t the only member of his family who sees children as things to be used:
“A Missouri Valley, Iowa, man has been sentenced to 90 months in prison for possessing child pornography.
Jeremiah T. Windschitl, 29, pleaded guilty to possession of child pornography in May — almost two years after his computer was seized during a search of his home.
The sentence, announced Friday by U.S. Attorney Matthew Whitaker, will be followed by a 10-year term of supervised release.
Windschitl had saved numerous pornographic images of children on his computer, according to investigators.
In conjunction with Windschitl’s guilty plea, prosecutors dropped one charge of production of child pornography and one charge of receipt of child pornography. He was indicted on all three counts in February.
Windschitl is the older brother of Iowa State Rep. Matt Windschitl, R-Missouri Valley. Rep. Windschitl, 25, was elected to the position of assistant minority leader in the House earlier this week.”

………and tell me how do you pronounce Wind schiti ? The right is acting desperately……equality cannot be stopped, it will gain acceptance slowly now, at first, but as it gains momentum, states will look foolish to deny equal rights for LGBT’s.
The more these wing-nuts demonstrate such blatant, explicit animus the quicker the fence sitters are apt to jump away from the side with all the manure.
Just when you think you have heard it all…
What I see from this latest extreme right-wing outrage is that they are quite desperate in their latest move against the cause of LGBT equality. All over the country LGBT causes are winning acceptance. Slowly, too slowly, but acceptance nonetheless. As this happens the right-wing nuts are forced to escalate their claims. Now they have reached into the schoolyard attempting to dictate dispute resolution between 7-year olds. It should be obvious to anyone who has any historical perspective that the right-wing senses they are losing the war, even if they have won a few local battles. This is also a perfect example of the shameful state of our government today. That a couple of elected representatives of the people of Iowa would spend time advocating such an idiotic, hateful viewpoint, probably in an attempt to command attention and votes, shows how distorted our public culture has become. In a properly functioning democracy, such people would be immediately recalled from office simply for neglecting the public’s true business while wasting everyone’s time on such cheap, attention-seeking distractions.
