Million Gay March of Texas organizers will host a volunteer meeting followed by a poster-making party on Saturday, June 27 in preparation for Sunday’s commemoration of the 40th anniversary of the Stonewall Rebellion.

The volunteer meeting will be from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Round-Up Saloon, 3912 Cedar Springs Road. Anyone interested in volunteering during the march is encouraged to attend the meeting.

The poster-making party will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday on the back patio of Station 4, 3911 Cedar Springs Road. Participants are asked to bring supplies for posters, placards or T-shirts.

The march will begin at 2 p.m. Sunday in the parking lot of Kroger, 4142 Cedar Springs Road, but participants are asked to arrive at 1 p.m.

The march will proceed down Cedar Springs Road to Lee Park, where it will be followed by a rally including speakers and booths sponsored by local LGBT political advocacy groups.

As of Tuesday, June 22, confirmed speakers for the rally included local gay historian Phil Johnson, City Councilwoman Angela Hunt, Mike McKay and Cece Cox of Resource Center Dallas, and longtime activist John Selig, according to MGMT organizers.
