Wendy Davis

The race for Texas Senate District 10 is razor tight after early voting.

Republican State Rep. Mark Shelton has a slight lead over incumbent Democratic Sen. Wendy Davis, according to the Tarrant County elections office. Shelton received 101,016 votes in early voting, or 50.38 percent, to Davis’ 99,482, or 49.62 percent.

Davis is a strong LGBT ally who authored an LGBT-inclusive anti-bullying bill. Shelton, meanwhile, voted to ban LGBT resource centers on college campuses.

It looks like this race will come down to the wire.
