DFW NORML, the local chapter of the National Organization to Reform Marijuana Law, is sponsoring the local version of a worldwide march supporting the legalization of marijuana.
I wonder who organizes these marches, as tokers aren’t exactly known for their, ummm, motivation. And what do you bring to a marijuana march? I’m thinking you wear your mary janes, carry a pot and fill your iPod with Doobie Brothers. But that’s probably cliche.
Anyway, the marchers — though I’m guessing a better term would be “meanderers” — will gather at City Hall on Saturday, May 1 at noon for a rally, then proceed past the grassy knoll (now that’s cliche), the West End, Farmer’s Market (I guess some might wanna shop for some herb) then end where it started. There will be an after-party, too, though no word on whether munchies will be provided.

aawesome!
Holy smokes! That is the same day as the immigration reform march that hopes to be as big as the 2006 May 1 march in downtown Dallas, according to https://megamarch.com
Basically, stay away from downtown Dallas on May 1st unless you plan to attend these rallies.
Look for a surge in sales at your local Gas Pipe
Arnold,
Your flippant mention about their march really was inappropriate and smart ass. I know nothing about their march but take a look at today’s news of the horrors that are happening in border cities with drug dealer violence. Some of that violence could be happening to your family. It is caused by our stupid laws and the idiotic War On Drugs promoted, politically inspired and supported by the same ilk that attack gay and family equality. I would imagine NORML’s march is happening to draw attention to this issue.
As a journalist, perhaps you should educate yourself a little and resist the temptation to draw attention to yourself with what you think are cute remarks. They are not and they trivialize a gigantic egregious issue in our country that is causing many deaths, ruined lives and absurd imprisonments.
Yes the column might be TEA, but when it comes to issues as weighty as these, jerkish reporting is not acceptable and only screams immaturity.
