Log Cabin Republicans reports that on top of all the election victories widely reported after Election Day, four of its members were elected to local offices and another confirmed to a federal post:

Log Cabin Republicans of Massachusetts member Ryan Egan won his hotly contested race for Randolph Town Council.

Longtime Log Cabin Republicans of Ohio member David Tadych won election to the Bay Village City Council — for an eighth term.

Log Cabin Republicans member Bradley Michelson won his race for the Board of Representatives in Stamford, Conn.

In what is likely an historic first, gay Republican Joe DeIorio won election and will be serving together with his husband — fellow Republican Thos Shipley — on the Roselle Park City Council in New Jersey.

Log Cabin Republicans of Washington, D.C. member James Abbott was unanimously confirmed by the United States Senate of to the Federal Labor Relations Authority after being nominated to the post by President Donald Trump.

In Austin, however, the news isn’t quite so good. Log Cabin members were refused a place on the ballot as precinct chairs despite being qualified members of the party. This from Log Cabin of Austin:

This past Tuesday at the Travis County Republican Party Executive Committee meeting, the committee members rejected the Precinct Chair applications of five members of the Log Cabin Republicans of Austin for unrepresented precincts in Travis County, due to fears that our group does not represent the values of the Republican Party.
