DFW Pride Movement is partnering with the International Gay Rodeo Association and LULAC Chapter 4871 for free HIV testing during the upcoming rodeo finals.
The Cowboys for HIV Awareness campaign was spearheaded by local lesbian activist Cd Kirven. The partnership is a way to increase HIV awareness and multicultural participation in the Texas rodeo community, according to a press release.
Testing is now available through Oct. 18 at Resource Center, 2701 Reagan St., and the Urban League Dallas, 4315 S. Lancaster Road. Everyone who is tested can receive on-site counseling and a free ticket to the gay rodeo finals on Oct. 19-20 at Will Rogers Center, 3401 W. Lancaster Ave. in Fort Worth.
