‘Bucks for Chuck’ poker tournament set to raise money for man with cancer
Friends of Charles "Chuck" Berkhimer will hold the "Bucks for Chuck Poker Tournament" Saturday, Nov. 8, at Dyer Street Bar, 5527 Dyer St. in Dallas. The event is the first of several planned by the group to help Berkhimer pay medical bills associated with his treatment for cancer.

Berkhimer was unemployed when he was diagnosed with cancer. Even though he is now employed, the insurance he has through his job will not pay for the cancer treatments because it was a pre-existing condition, friends said.

The organizers are asking for donations of raffle items from businesses as well as people to participate in the poker tournament.
