Art for Peace &Justice presents ‘Deep Ellum Gospel Brunch"
Art for Peace & Justice presents its first "Deep Ellum Gospel Brunch," featuring Denise Lee and Gary Floyd, on Sunday, March 29 at Excuses Extreme Café, 3025 Main Street in Deep Ellum.
Doors open for the two seatings at 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m., with the music beginning 30 minutes later.

OOCCL to host Dallas City Council candidate forum
The Old Oak Cliff Conservation League will sponsor a forum for registered Dallas City Council candidates from OOCCL member neighborhood districts 1, 3, 4 and 5 on Monday, March 30, in Yeats Hall at the Tyler Street United Methodist Church, 927 W. 10th St.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for a "meet the candidates" session. The forum will be held from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
DIFFA/Dallas presents preview party for Dallas Collection ’09: Utopia
The Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS: DIFFA/Dallas presents the DIFFA/Dallas 20th Anniversary Collection: Utopia Preview Party on Tuesday, March 31, 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Dallas’ historic Union Station.
The event offers the public a first glimpse of the 2009 Jacket Collection to be auctioned off at the Hilton Anatole Hotel on May 2.
Dallas Collection and the preview party will feature jackets by nationally and internationally renowned designers such as Michael Simon, Geoffrey Henning, Tadashi, St. John, Lela Rose, Kenneth Cole, Emma Watson for AFI, Tory Burch, The Muppets and costume designers from "Desperate Housewives," "Heroes" and "Ghost Whisperer" and more.
Chef Wolfgang Puck will provide the food.

SMU programs present panel discussion, film festival
The SMU Human Rights Education program and the SMU Women’s Center for Gender and Pride Initiatives are sponsoring a panel discussion on "Remembering Stonewall" on Thursday, April 2, at 7 p.m. at the Hughes-Trigg Students Center on the SMU campus.
The discussion is being held to honor the riots at the Stonewall Inn in New York City in 1969 that are widely seen as the event that launched the modern gay rights movement.
The two programs also are sponsoring an LGBT Film Festival on Saturday, April 4, with films starting at 9:30 a.m., noon and 2:30 p.m., also at the Hughes-Trigg Student Center.
