Laura Kerr named as new co-chair for 2009 Lone Star AIDS Ride
Laura Kerr has been appointed to join Arlen Miller as co-chair of the Lone Star Ride Fighting AIDS.

Kerr has been a Lone Star Ride participant the past seven years and held positions within the marketing team for LSR on two separate occasions.

She is credited with having recruited the largest team in LSR history — 32 team members — for the 2008 event.

Resource Center of Dallas seeking50/50 sponsors for monthly Gay Bingo
The Resource Center of Dallas is seeking 50/50 sponsors for its monthly Gay Bingo fundraiser from February through November 2009.

Interested groups must send a representative to a drawing in the Resource Center’s Rainbow Room at 6:30 p.m. on Jan. 6.

Groups selected as 50/50 sponsors will receive half the proceeds from raffle ticket sales during Gay Bingo.

Urban Dog holding ‘Santa Can’ Daysto benefit Legacy Founders Cottage
Urban Dog Coffee, 2720 Oak Lawn Ave., Ste. A, is joining with Legacy Counseling Center to present the "Santa Can" through the month of December at Urban Dog Coffee where items such as paper towels, toilet paper, cleaning supplies, twin sheets, adult non-pull-up diapers, trash sacks, laundry detergent and grocery store gift cards can be dropped of to donate to Legacy.

Grace United Methodist plans special Christmas Eve service
Grace United Methodist Church, 4105 Junius, will hold a candlelight "Family Christmas Service"  Wednesday, Dec. 24 at 10 p.m.  This service, which will feature carols, scripture and special music, will conclude with worshipers singing "Silent Night" by candlelight.
