Federal Club hosting women’s membership, recruitment event
The DFW Federal Club will host a women’s membership and recruitment event from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, April 4 at Times Ten Wine Cellars, 6324 Prospect Ave. in Dallas.

The event, "Women and Wine," will feature five wines from Times Ten, appetizers from Doug Boster Catering and chocolate from Hershey’s select line.

Women interested in learning more about the Human Rights Campaign and the DFW Federal Club are welcome to attend. RSVP at dfwfederalclub.org.

Cathedral of Hope announces schedule of services to observe Holy Week
The Cathedral of Hope will observe Holy Week beginning Sunday, April 5, at the 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. services, with senior pastor the Rev. Jo Hudson speaking on "My Way or the High Way" as her Palm Sunday message.

At 1 p.m. that day, the church’s Ministerio Latino will offer a "Servicio Litúrgico en Español."

The weeklong observances continue on Wednesday, April 8 at 7:15 p.m. with a special contemporary worship service that will include the ancient tradition of foot washing. Worshippers can choose whether or not to participate.

The service will be led by the Rev. Dawson Taylor and Voices of Hope, the contemporary music ensemble.

Maundy Thursday, commemorating the Last Supper, will be observed on Thursday, April 9 at 7:15 p.m..

The Cathedral’s Sanctuary Choir and Orchestra will lead a Tenebrae service, or service of darkness, Friday, April 10, also at 7:15 p.m.

The Ministerio Latino will hold a 12-hour prayer vigil, or Vigilia de Oracion, beginning Saturday, April 11 at 8 p.m.

The Cathedral of Hope is located at 5910 Cedar Springs Road. All services are free and open to everyone.

‘Fashion CITED’ runway show set to benefit Legal Hospice of Texas
Legal Hospice of Texas’ third annual "Fashion CITED: A Style Event" takes place Thursday, April 16, beginning at 6:45 p.m. at Positive Space, 1729 Irving Blvd.

The runway event will feature fashions from Geoffrey Henning, Nicolas Couture, Abi Ferrin, House of Dang, C. Nicole, Konstantina Mahlia, Craig Mueller, Shemara Couture, Stephanie Montes, Emily MacKinnon, Khanh Nguyen, Morgan Pfeil, Cathy Garcia and Francisco Flores. Also participating in the fashion show are local retailers Greenology, J. Hilburn and Regimens.

Debbie Denmon, WFAA-TV news reporter and anchor, will be M.C. Celebrity models include Fox 4 News anchor Baron James, Dr. Todd Brownlee, Dr. Clint Herzog and Breah Herzog.

The Market Diner’s Natalie Woodley and her sister Barbara Woodley will also model.

A limited number of tickets will be available at the door the night of the event, organizers said.

Morning News columnist Steve Blow to speak at St. Stephen UMC
Dallas Morning News columnist Steve Blow will speak at St. Stephen United Methodist Church on Tuesday, April 21, beginning at 7:30 p.m.

Admission is free, but a free-will offering will be taken to benefit the North Texas Food Bank.

St. Stephen UMC, a reconciling congregation, is located at 2520 Oates Drive in Mesquite.

Toast to Life gala benefiting Resource Center of Dallas set for April 18
The Resource Center of Dallas will hold its 11th annual Toast To Life gala, "Savor. Sip. Support!" on Saturday, April 18, at 8 p.m. at the Fashion Industry Gallery, 1807 Ross Ave.

Event tickets are $100. VIP tickets, which include admission to a private reception prior to the event, are $150.
