Mad Hatter party for Lambda Legal to feature Reichen Lehmkuhl
The Mad Hatter Garden Party benefiting Lambda Legal Defense and Education Fund will be held Sunday, April 27.

The event, featuring celebrity host and TV reality star Reichen Lehmkuhl along with a celebrity hat auction, will be at a private home. Admission is a suggested donation of $50. For more information, call Carla McKinzie at 214-219-8585.

Dallas County medical director to speak on LGBT medical issues
Dr. John Carlo, medical director for the Dallas County Department of Health and Human Services, will be a speaker and panel member for a presentation on Thursday, April 24, exploring how to locate LGBT-friendly physicians and what LGBT people need to know in dealing with hospitals and insurance companies.

Other panel members include registered nurses Linda Vozzella and Michael Marr and an attorney from Lambda Legal Defense and Education Fund.

The event, presented for the LGBT community by Gilda’s Club through a grant from the Lance Armstrong Foundation, will be held in the Community Room at Gilda’s Club, 2710 Oak Lawn.

It will begin with a free meal following by the panel discussion and a question-and-answer session.

The event is open to the public and all interested people are invited to attend.

Guys and Dolls team to host garage sale benefitting Lifewalk
The Guys and Dolls AIDS LifeWalk team will hold its annual garage sale May 9-10, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 3975 Boca Bay Drive in Dallas.

All proceeds from the sale benefit AIDS Arms’ 2008 LifeWalk, and Guys and Dolls are accepting donations for the sale.

Cedars Springs Crime Watch meeting set for April 24 at Sam Houston
The Cedar Springs Stakeholders Crime Watch and the Dallas Police Department present the Oak Lawn Community Crime Watch Meeting on Thursday, April 24, at 6 p.m. at the Sam Houston School Auditorium, 2827 Throckmorton Ave.

Residents, property owners and business owners in Oak Lawn are encouraged to attend.

The event is co-sponsored by the Dallas Tavern Guild and the Cedar Springs Merchants Association.
