No Tie Dinner & Dessert Party benefiting AIDS Services of Dallas is coming up
AIDS Services of Dallas’ annual fundraiser, the No Tie Dinner & Dessert Party, is set for Saturday, March 29, beginning with several dinner parties in private homes around the city at 6 p.m.
The private dinner parties will be followed by a dessert social and silent auction at the Frontiers of Flight Museum near Love Field at 8 p.m.
More than 400 people from around the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex are expected to attend.
Proceeds from the evening will help fund the programs at AIDS Services, an organization that helps people with AIDS to live independently.
Sponsorships are still available at several levels, and individual participation at private homes and venues throughout the DFW area is encouraged.
A $35 suggested minimum donation is requested.

Women’s Chorus of Dallas to perform ‘City Lights’ concert on March 15
The Women’s Chorus of Dallas presents its "City Lights" concert Saturday, March 15, at 8 p.m. at Caruth Auditorium on the SMU Campus.
This primarily pops concerts will feature many favorite songs celebrating various cities, including "The Boy from New York City," "Downtown," "Little Old Lady from Pasadena," "Big D" and "Take the A Train."
The concert will feature the full chorus and small ensembles and will include pop-opera, "African Freedom Song," choreography and more. Concert guests include the Hurst Junior High Varsity Treble and instrumentalists from Greater Dallas Youth Orchestra.
Single concert tickets are now on sale and are $10 for seniors citizens and students and $15-$25 for adults. Season tickets are also available for the remaining two concerts in the season.

Charity concert for Nelson-Tebedo Clinic set for March 14 at Crossroads church
Crossroads Community Church, Grace Fellowship in Christ Jesus, Rainbow Ministries International and the Texas Gay Rodeo Association present the "For God So Loved… That He Gave! Charity Concert II" on Friday, March 14, at 7:30 p.m. at Grace Fellowship Church, 411 S. Westmoreland Road in Dallas.
Featured artists include Marvin Matthews, Bill Cobb, Craig Johnston and The Life Center, Don Mills, the Grace Fellowship Praise Team, Janice LaCount, Johnny D. Head, Kathy Kennedy, Ray Norris, Rusty Johnson, Tim Martin and Wade Earp.
The event will benefit the Nelson-Tebedo Health Resource Center and the Resource Center of Dallas’ John Thomas Gay and Lesbian Community Center, and will include a Mexican food buffet.

RE/MAX broker Updike receives national Medallion of Service
Jeff Updike, broker owner of RE/MAX Urban, received the national Omega Tau Rho Medallion of Service during ceremonies on Feb. 26 at the Texas Association of Realtors Winter Meeting.
The Omega Tau Rho Medallion of Service is awarded to Realtors who meet specific criteria on local, state and national levels.
Omega Tau Rho is a National Association of Realtors award sponsored by the Texas Association of Realtors. The fraternity acknowledges outstanding contributions to the real estate industry, and membership in this honorary fraternity is represented by the Medallion of Service, which symbolizes the recognition and appreciation accorded inductees for their contributions to the state association and the National Association of Realtors.
Once a medallion is awarded, the recipient is a member of the prestigious Omega Tau Rho fraternity for life.
In addition, Updike served as the 2007 president of the 14,000-plus MetroTex Association of Realtors and the 2005 North Texas Real Estate Information Service (MLS). He was the MetroTex Realtor of the Year for 2006, and he chairs or serves on several committees of both the Texas Association and National Association of Realtors.
