Empress Donna Dumae celebrates 24 years service with fundraising show
Donna Dumae, Empress XI of the Imperial Court de Fort Worth/Arlington and Empress XXIII of the United Court of the Lone Star Empire in Dallas, will celebrate 24 years of community involvement and fundraising efforts by presenting “A Fabulous Show for a Fabulous Cause” on Sunday, Jan. 27.

The show, benefiting AIDS Services of Dallas, begins at 8 p.m. at Dallas Eagle, 2515 Inwood, No. 117.

Barbara’s Pavilion to host benefit for Legacy Foundation
Cottage Barbara’s Pavilion, located at 323 Centre St. in Oak Cliff, is participating in a Valentine’s Day fundraising event to benefit Legacy Founders Cottage, a hospice for people with HIV.

For a $5 donation, participants will receive a small paper bag that they can decorate and then hang on the wall at the Pavilion. Then in a throwback to elementary school days they can have notes, Valentines, candy or other small gifts placed other participants’ Valentine’s Day bags.

DIFFA/Dallas 2008 Collection to host preview party

The Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS will host a preview party for this year’s “Cinema de la Vie” event at The W Hotel on Jan. 31 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

There will be $20 donations at the door.

First Baptist Church McKinney to host “‘Step Into Africa’ AIDS exhibit

The First Baptist Church of McKinney will host the educational AIDS exhibit “Step Into Africa” Feb. 23-25 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at 1615 W. Louisiana St.

The exhibit is part of an 80-city U.S. tour. It features a 2,340 square-foot replica of an African village. Visitors tour the village, listening on headset to a personal audio track telling the stories of four children whose lives have been devastated by AIDS.
