TGRA presents ‘Hard Candy Christmas’ fundraising show
The Dallas Chapter of the Texas Gay Rodeo Association holds its annual "Hard Candy Christmas" fundraising show Saturday, Dec. 5, at 8 p.m. at Illusions, 4100 Maple Ave.

The event will be hosted by McKenzie Storm and will feature Christmas items up for auction in addition to the holiday-themed performances.
Proceeds benefit TGRA and its charities. TGRA is a 501(c)3 charity organization.

Dallas Bar Association offers LegalLine free call-in program
Volunteer attorneys will man the telephones to answer legal questions at no cost from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 9, and Wednesday, Dec. 16, as part of LegalLine, a call-in program sponsored by the Dallas Bar Association. The telephone number is 214-220-7476 .

Oak Lawn Committee announces new officers for 2010
The Oak Lawn Committee’s new officers for the upcoming year are President Rob Elmore; Vice President Brenda Marks; and City Hall Liaison Frank Stich. Michael Milliken, who has served for the past seven years as president of the committee, will continue to serve on the executive board as secretary/treasurer.  
The Oak Lawn Committee provides neighborhood input on development and zoning issues.

Queer LiberAction holding ‘Think-In’ to develop new strategies
A month shy of its one-year anniversary, Queer LiberAction will meet Saturday, Dec. 5, at 5:35 p.m., at Woody’s, 4011 Cedar Springs Road, for a "Think-In."
Organizers said the purpose of the meeting is to discuss ways to improve and develop the organization, and all interested individuals are invited to attend and share thoughts and ideas.

GAIN presents speaker on Medicare Part D for seniors
GAIN, the GLBT + Aging Interest Network, will present "Just the Facts/Unlocking the Mysteries of Medicare D" on Dec. 9. Deborah Marshall from the Dallas Area Agency on Aging is the speaker. The program begins at 6:30 p.m. at Resource Center Dallas and is free and open to the public.

Marshall, a benefits and Medicare D specialist with the Dallas Area Agency on Aging, has been involved with Medicare D since the program started in 2006.
GAIN offers programs ranging from health care to financial planning for the LGBT community age 50 and over.
