Bogle to speak at next meeting of Stonewall Democrats of Collin County
Dr. Edra Bogle, a retired faculty member of the University of North Texas and the outgoing chair of the Denton County Democratic Party, will be guest speaker at the May 11 meeting of the Stonewall Democrats of Collin County.
The meeting is from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at il Grano Italian Bakery and Cafe, 5960 West Parker Road, No. 210, in Plano.

Bogle previously served on the board of the Lesbian/Gay Rights Lobby of Texas, now known as Equality Texas, and was co-director of Lesbian and Gay Democrats of Texas, the predecessor of Stonewall Democrats.

Also at the meeting, Senate District 8 committee woman Nancy Machen will lead an activist workshop on the Texas Democratic Party structure.

Federal Club holding “‘Family Adventure’ at Science Place
The DFW Human Rights Campaign Federal Club presents the kid-friendly “Family Adventure” on May 6, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Science Place at Fair Park.

All GLBT parents, aunts, uncles, grandparents and Big Brothers/Big Sisters are invited to bring the children in their families for the day, which includes a special private light show at 10:30 a.m. and a complimentary pizza lunch at 11:30 a.m.

Hill’s Science Diet presents annual Fur Ball Gala benefiting SPCA
The annual Fur Ball Gala benefiting the SPCA of Texas, presented by Hill’s Science Diet, will be held from 7 p.m. to midnight on May 13 at the Westin Galleria hotel.

Shannon Hori of CBS 11 news will be M.C., and entertainment will be provided by Hunter Sullivan and his Big Band. The evening includes a cocktail hour, dinner, dancing and a live auction with jewelry from DeBoulle and Cartier, a trip to Las Ventanas al Paraiso in Cabo San Lucas, a sports package and a simulator ride and dinner with Gary Kelly, CEO of Southwest Airlines, among other items.

Tickets are $125 per person. Table sponsorships are available for $1,500 for a table for 10.
